Link between Divine Mercy and Virginia Tech?
Over the weekend, 23-year-old Audrey Santo of Worcester, Mass., died.In a coma since nearly drowning in a pool at age 3, Santo was well-known to area Catholics, as Santo's mother claimed her daughter was a victim soul. Many people reported miracles and healing after praying near the comotose girl, and she had many followers across the country and world.
The Archdiocese of Worcester never authenticated any of the miracles attributed to Audrey, but always commended her family for the excellent care the woman received at home.
Here's a link to the report on Santo's thankfully peaceful passing and her celebrated life.
In reading about her life and Googling, I found a very interesting post from Fr. John Larsen, who links Santo's passing and the horrible tragedy at Virginia Tech:
"Audrey Santo died April 14. When someone who is clearly a victim soul dies, trouble tends to follow. Victim souls tend to hold big trouble back, preventing the wrath of God from coming down (see the origin of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy)."
