My saint for 2008

Over at A Catholic Mom in Hawaii, Esther has been nice enough to pair up we seeking souls with our patron saint for 2008.

How cool is that?

I've got word that my patron for 2008 is St. Ambrose. Holy smokes, one of the original four doctors of the church. A major theologian. And...me? Well, the Holy Spirit must want me to do some heavy-duty reading next year!

I've been Googling St. Ambrose today, as I previously knew nothing about him. This caught my eye:

"There is a legend that as an infant, a swarm of bees settled on his face while he lay in his cradle, leaving behind a drop of honey. His father considered this a sign of his future eloquence and honeyed-tongue. For this reason, bees and beehives often appear in the saint's symbology."

My name is Melissa. "Melissa" is Greek for "honey bee." Kinda cool! He's also the patron saint of beekeepers (natch) and learning. This should be a fun year!
